quick to panic

Just saying a quick hi, hello, goodbye to my blog. Sorry for not updating coz I am still in hiatus from all the shebang of daily living. Yeah I know this (blogging) can keep the ball rolling but I am currently on a quest that needs a lot of hope, encouragement, will, strength, et cetera et cetera et cetera and perhaps being off for the meantime can bring back that spark again.  I am totally not in control of my emotions and I get a bit mushy when I want to write. So like I said, just a quick hi hello goodbye.

Sharing about PMS and how small things can make you crazy and you get extremely mad and you cry for no reason at all. All it means to say, it's time. PERIOD..

happy day with our pet beagle, COLA. beagles make me smile.

My DIY Pompoms & Cupcakes plus party crafts

Cute things for my baby cousin's Christening last october 8.

I love these onesies I ordered from a crafts' store in Manila. Since I laid eyes on the store's creations my mind was flying what, when and who's birthday or event I should order for. And when the opportunity for my cousin came in, I quickly informed my tita for she planned to have me make one for the christening of her baby.

Don't you just adore these?

I got these cute lil shoezies as favors and I placed candies and chocolates inside. I think having this as a give-away is soo adorable even without the chocolates. haha!

I had it made in three colors, blue, violet and green.

And then I made some Vanilla Cupcakes with Butter Cream for dessert.

They're yummy! haha!
For the dessert table: made some banderitas made of colored paper, displayed my cupcakes and the shoe favors.
The arrangement is still unfinished in this photo, so it looks kalbo. There's still other desserts that wasn't displayed yet and I was supposed to hang pompom balls on top of the table but I had no time to make it since I was already late for the blessing as a ninang. haha!

I had pompom balls made earlier that day though, that's what I used as table centerpieces for the guests. They were even amazed of the craft. LOL Too bad I wasn't able to take a photo of it but here's  a sample pic as an inspiration.

Made it in this color and in violet.
This is just easy to do and there's no fuss in spending on expensive decorations coz it's just made of japanese paper. You can even make this as decors for Christmas, just buy red and green jap paper and voila instant lantern balls.

Again, more pics on my cupcakes. haha!

Black friday

I love anything floral and intricate and one of  my fav item in my collection is a necklace I got at a local store. It's simple and it's floral.

raining outside
Re-lived a pair of pointed Keds which I luckily found under piles of shoes from long long ago. haha . Still comfy and it even looks filthy. haha!
But old is nice. Things shouldn't always be new.
Isn't this a beauty?
Here's to a casual black friday.

Simon in a tv box

Vater always have peculiar ideas in his mind. Anything from making things, fixing broken gadgets, tools, strategize systems, etc. he comes up with solutions that you'd normally wouldn't read in books, on the net or see on tv. Sometimes we kids would make fun of his ideas coz it's really the 'think-out-of-a-box' light bulb moment.

One time he shared about wanting to make a dog house for our beagles, Simon and Cola to keep them dry since we don't cage them and they get when the rain comes in the billiard area where they sleep. He rarely shows his fondness for the dogs so when he mentioned about the dog house we wondered how he's gonna pull it off or the carpenter.

And here's the end result......tadah!
The box that will protect Simon from the rain. It looks like a TV haha! He looks so cute and he loves it!

Cola hehe
They won't be sharing the wooden chair anymore.
Simon and Cola loves their new tv box, some chill spot dad made for them. awww hehe!

giving thanks

We live in a fast-paced world. Because of this, we fail to notice many things. For a change, try to take it slow today. As you go through your day, take time out to count your blessings. One by one, thank God for the the blessings that come your way. You will be amazed by how blessed you truly are.

Here's a praise Psalm revised by the author of the book I'm currently reading.

Praise the Lord.
Praise God in the glorious sunshine.
Praise Him in the freezing drizzle.
Praise Him as you drive to church.
Praise Him as you drive to the dentist.
Praise Him in the checkout line;
Praise Him in freeway traffic.

Praise God on the job;
Praise Him on vacation.
Praise Him on payday and as you make the house payment.

Praise God when you open your eyes in the morning;
Praise Him when you can't shut them at night.
Praise Him for take-out food and elegant dinners.
Praise Him for computers and Email.
Praise God when you're 13.
Praise Him when you're 93.
Praise Him in the racket of a family gathering.
Praise Him in the quietness of a lonely room.
Praise God on the CD player and the car stereo;
Praise Him with your heart and voice--
Or in silence.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.

God gave us a gift of 86, 400 seconds today. Have you used one to say "Thank you'?"

Flower power wednesday

It's another colorful day for me!
Feeling vibrant and positive again after days of sulking in my own gray world. To exude that positivity I decided to wear my pink flowery wedges, again from Asianvogue.. yey for super one- of- a- kind shoes.
I don't usually wear pink and if I ever do, i'd rather choose the magenta hues coz light pink don't match my skin color. lol. The top is a long shirt dress which I wore with a brown skirt to give a neutral palette since the polo wouldn't match the shoes coz it's all printy. Bag is by Fossil and it's one of my favorite brand because it has an old, rugged, classy look to it and the shoes, the shoes looks like it's from the 70's, hippie style. Flower power!

Fossil bags, oh so lovely!

When in crisis

Crisis moments are opportunities for growth, an occasion to grapple with real choices and tough consequences, thus a moment of maturity. In these moments, you are forced to to go back to the basics, to your foundation, to who you truly are. Allow God to be your rock of salvation, your sure foundation. — 2346

Comfy Color

There are days when I just want to wear shorts, not shorty shorts but something I can walk and move comfortably with especially when I have my period.

Orange you feeling blue?

I know it's a monday and I don't feel like dressing up since it rained in the morning. But I got this uber cute orange flatforms from Asianvogue that I really can't wait to wear so I decided to use it. Haha! Saved myself from rain puddles. The graphic shirt is a favorite coz I love pandas!! Got the color inspiration of orange and blue from a bag I bought in a local department store.

Blue for a rainy morning then orange for a sunny afternoon.

It's a sunny afternoon now..

Blue+Green

I have always been in love with the color blue green, aquamarine, turquoise, anything bluish-greenish. The aura of the color just makes me feel at home and somehow close to what is 'natural'.  My mom's love for colors influenced me a lot too. She would often wear clothes in hues of green, yellow, pink, blue, red and up to now whenever I miss her, I just open her closet and stare at her clothes reminiscing a specific clothing  she wore during a specific day. I remember her collection of flats in lime green and light blue and I was lucky among my sisters to have the same size as my mom because I can borrow shoes from her. LOL

This day felt like a blue green day as well as in the past week. It's just comforting to wear and feel something that is calm as as the deep blue sea and as peaceful as the green fields of grass. Perhaps serenity?

Here are photographs of me and anything in blue green.

I call this pair my SERENITY Shoes.
Haha! Me in bluegreen (center) with my sisters. I know I didn't have a choice wearing that color because I was always  at the middle.
2007 I used to be a hippie-dresser in college, tie-dye shirt! LOL
2009-Bluegreen cardigan, during Diava photoshoot
2010- At home, playing with one of our beagles.

2011
I kind of stopped wearing bluegreen since the start of this year and was stuck to grays and then I got crazy for seeing my closet looking so boring! Found no red, pink, orange and green. So i'm back to buying colors again. And I love the summer palettes in orange and magenta and of course blue and green! Color blocking!!

and oh by the way, some color meanings I found at this site.

LIME
excited, motivated, anticipation, prosperity, money, hope, growth, luck, employment

GREEN

*ability to express unconditional love, forgiveness and compassion.

BLUE GREEN or TURQUOISE

BLUE
A balance of the color brings intuition, inspiration, sincerity, peace, joy, tranquility, faith in oneself and trust in others.
